Saint Mary’s College of Nursing organized World Breast Feeding Week 2023 on 07/08/2023. It was celebrated in association with K.R.Hospital, Indian association pediatrics Mysuru, Karnataka. The 2nd and 3rd year students of B.Sc. Nursing of SMCON presented a beautiful Role play on the importance of breast feeding and explained the benefits of Breast feeding to the mothers present to the celebration. around 50 mothers benefited from this Breast feeding week celebration. Dr. Savitha HOD dept. of pediatrics Cheluvamba hospital Mysuru, was the chief guest of the day. An eye opening presentation on the ‘Relevance of Breast Feeding’ by Prof . Divya the Dietician was a feather to the celebrations. Let’s make breastfeeding and work, work! was the theme highlighted by the health care providers. It was heart warming to listen to the opinions and experiences from the mothers and their relatives on the breast feeding a blessing in disguise and a God’s grace to humanity for the healthy and intelligent generation.
Mrs. Shreevidya and Ms. Archana the nursing tutors motivated the students to put up a beautiful role play, on the day of celebration Sr. Smitha (Assist Prof ) Mrs. Danavathy, Ms. Sharmila the nursing tutors encouragement and all over organization was remarkable. Thanks to Prof Mr. Naveen Rasquinha (the Principal ), Prof Mr. Sandeep Kumar ( the Vice principal) for their cooperation and guidance to make this event a memorable one.
