On 6th June 2024,from the management and Vice Principal & Principal organized BLS training program, which was conducted by “STARS HEALTHCARE ACADEMY” Bangalore for 3rd sem students .The program started by 9:30 Am by welcoming the instructor Mr. Shashikumar H. S ( AHA BLS Instructor), Mr. Manohar ( AHA BLS Instructor) and Mr. Vivek ( Marketing Executive) by Prof. Sandeep Kumar ( Vice Principal of SMCON) and felicitate by Rev. Sr. Mary Mendonca ( Director of SMCON) & Prof. .Naveen Rasquinha ( Principal of SMCON).
Mr. Shashikumar started the class by giving introduction about FIRST AID & CPR, then he allotted a tea break for 15 min. and then he continued the class about EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT IN PUBLIC ( Stroke, heart attack, sainting, chocking) and he handover the mike to Mr. Manohar sir for the practical section of chocking management then they given a lunch break for 40min. ( 1:00 pm to 1:40pm).
After the lunch break the class started with the theory & practical section of CPR in that all students programmed adult & pediatric CPR on mannequin & even the AED skills. Mr. Manohar sir explained about Airway indication & its management. Sir demonstrate Nasopharyngeal Airway (NPA) and Orthopharyngal Airway(OPA) to the students in batch wise & made students to demonstrate the insertion of airway.
After the practical section they taught about the ENVIRONMENTAL EMERGENCIES ( Fracture, Snake bite, Honeybee bite, Burn) and its management, the the class was concluded ate 5:45pm with vote of thanks by Mr. Naveen Rasquinha ( Principal of SMCON) & issued the certificate by” STARSHEALTHCARE ACADEMY“
