

BCLS (Comprehensive Emergency Management & Training) program for 3rd year & 4th year was organized to equip Nurses with the skills to respond to a life-threatening emergencies. By the institution in association with Jeeva Raksha Health Trust, led by Swami Vivekananda Youth Movement. The event began at 9:00 AM with a registration session coordinated by Prof. Kowsalya followed by a pre-test and ice-breaking session led by Dr Rekha This session set an interactive tone for the day, encouraging participant engagement.
The BCLS training started at 9:30 am by welcoming the instructors Dr. Rekha, the chief instructor & the team members Ms. Sudarani, Ms. Kowsalya, Ms. Neelarani, Mr. Sudarshan, Mr. Ramprasad , Ms. Nandini , Mr. Sreepal and Ms. Thanya.
The topics taken by the instructors were introduction to CPR, First aid, primary assessment of environmental emergencies, and initial management of stroke, heart attack and chocking. This session offered practical insights and reinforced theoretical knowledge through hands-on application. Participants engaged in return demonstrations, practicing BCLS techniques under expert guidance to enhance their practical skills.
At 5:00 PM, Dr Rekha chief instructor conducted a post-test to assess the knowledge acquired by participants throughout the workshop. This was followed by a feedback session led by Prof. Sudarshan and Mrs. Sreepal, gathering valuable participant insights and suggestions.
