

- On May 12, 2025, Saint Mary’s College of Nursing celebrated International Nurses Day with great enthusiasm, organized by the Student Nursing Association. The theme for this year was “Our Nurses, Our Future—Caring for Nurses, Strengthening Economies.”The event ran from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, featuring various competitions and culminating in an afternoon celebration, including a tableau and fancy dress competition.
Competitions Held
The day’s events were divided into morning and afternoon competitions:
Morning Competitions (9:00 AM – 11:00 AM)
- Pick and Speak(9:00 AM – 10:00 AM)
- Simulation(10:00 AM – 11:00 AM)
- Poster Presentation(10:00 AM – 11:00 AM)
Judges for the morning competitions were Sr. Mary Fernandes and Dr. Deepak.
Afternoon Competitions (3:30 PM – 4:30 PM)
- Tableau(3:30 PM)
- Fancy Dress(4:00 PM)
The judges for the afternoon competitions were Sr. Mary Mendonsa and Mrs. Madhumalathi, who also served as the chief guest for the program.
Event Proceedings
The celebration officially commenced at 3:00 PM and was anchored by Ms. Jyothis and Ms. Anugraha, who served as the masters of ceremony. The event began with a solemn group prayer song, setting a respectful tone for the occasion. This was followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries, symbolizing the dispel of darkness and the spread of knowledge.
