A Palliative Care Orientation Program was held on 4th May 2025 to promote awareness and emphasize the significance of palliative care services. The event commenced with a welcome speech by Lecturer Mr. Jayanth, followed by an insightful introduction to the Swami Vivekananda Youth Movement (SVYM) by Mr. Venkatesh, highlighting the organization’s contributions to health, education, and social development.
Dr. Yuga conducted an engaging session on the global and national relevance of palliative care, stressing the essential roles of healthcare professionals and caregivers. This was followed by an interactive session on communication skills led by counselor Mrs. Nagaraj Naganahalli.
Dr. Nagesh D.M., physician at VMH Saragur, concluded the presentations with a thoughtful talk on end-of-life care, highlighting the importance of empathy and ethical support. The program concluded with a vote of thanks from Ms. Amala Jacob. The event provided valuable insights into compassionate healthcare delivery through palliative care.
