

- On April 12, 2025, at 10:30 AM, the third-semester students of Saint Mays College of Nursing marked World Tuberculosis Day with an awareness program focused on TB prevention, early diagnosis, and treatment. Sr. Smitha, Assistant Professor and Head of the OBG Department, shared valuable insights on combating tuberculosis, highlighting the significance of collective efforts in eradicating the disease. The nursing students performed a skit based on the theme for World Tuberculosis Day 2025: “Yes! We Can End TB: Commit, Invest, Deliver. “This theme underscores the importance of a united global initiative to eliminate tuberculosis through strengthened commitments, increased investments, and decisive action. On May 12, 2025, Saint Mary’s College of Nursing celebrated International Nurses Day with great enthusiasm. The theme, “Caring for Nurses Strengthens Economy,” set by the International Council for Nurses, guided the events organized by the Student Nurses Association. Competitions such as fancy dress, tableau on the nursing profession, pick-and-speak, and poster-making showcased students’ creativity and dedication. The Nursing Superintendent from Govt. Hospital H.D. Kote honored the occasion as the chief guest, while Sr. Mary Mendonca, the institute’s director, served as a judge. Students actively participated, winning prizes and making the day a memorable tribute to the nursing profession.
