The primary objective of the program was to raise awareness about the vital benefits of breastfeeding for both mother and child. The session aimed to promote and support breastfeeding practices, educate mothers on proper techniques and positioning, and emphasize its role in enhancing maternal and infant health.
Breastfeeding Awareness Program held at Saint Mary’s Community Health Center featured distinguished guests including Dr. Sr. Hilda Lobo (Gynecologist), Dr. Sr. Amitha Lobo (General Surgeon), and Dr. Sr. Jyothi Fernandes (Pediatrician).
The event began with a warm welcome by Ms. Lincy Smitha, followed by an educational talk delivered by Ms. Trupthi. Students and Doctors collaborated in a role play and live demonstrations to showcase effective breastfeeding techniques. A cultural performance added a lively touch to the program, which concluded with a vote of thanks.
Approximately 28 mothers benefited from the session. The active participation of healthcare professionals and nursing students made the event both informative and impactful.
