World AIDS Day was observed on 1st December 2025 by the 2nd Semester B.Sc. (CD) students of Saint Mary’s College of Nursing. The program was organized to create awareness about HIV/AIDS among students.
The event began with a drawing competition on the theme “End AIDS, End Stigma” from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., coordinated by the 2nd semester students. The formal program commenced at 11:30 a.m. with a prayer song. The program was hosted by Ms. Dayana Thomas and Ms. Gobika Biju.
The dignitaries present were Director Sr. Mary Mendonca, Administrator Sr. Aruna Kumari, Principal Prof. Mrs. Sarvamangala K. P., and Vice Principal Prof. Sandeep Kumar, along with teaching and non-teaching faculty members. The welcome address was delivered by Ms. Riya Biju, followed by a talk on the significance of World AIDS Day by Ms. Esabel Theresa. A brief explanation about AIDS was given by the Principal.
A quiz competition and drawing competition were conducted. Winners of the quiz competition were Blue Rose (1st prize) and Purple Rose (2nd prize). The prizes were distributed by the Director and Administrator. In the drawing competition, Annliya Vincent (1st prize), Jiya (2nd prize), and Nirmala (3rd prize) won prizes, which were distributed by the Principal and Vice Principal.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Delna Jose. The event ended successfully with active participation from all students.
